“‘Do
you understand what you are reading?’
Philip asked. ‘How can I,’ [the Ethiopian]
said, ‘unless someone explains it to me.’
"
Acts 8:30-31
What
is Project Philip?
Project
Philip- unleashing the power of one!
"Do
you understand what you are reading?? Philip asked.
"How
can I" [The Ethiopian] said, "unless
someone explains it to me? "
Acts
8:30-31
Unlike traditional approaches, the Bible League
does not randomly distribute Bibles. Instead,
we work with churches around the world to employ
Project Philip?a proven model of ministry that
has reaped results worldwide. Its model is based
on the example in Acts 8, when Philip asked the
traveling Ethiopian if he understood the Scripture
he was reading. The Ethiopian admitted he could
not understand unless someone explained it to
him. So Philip climbed into the chariot, sat with
the Ethiopian and helped him understand.
One
Philip can touch hundreds of people
Following his example, the Bible League trains
?Philips? around the world to lead Bible studies,
thereby helping people understand God?s Word.
As group members complete the Bible study course,
they ?earn? their own Bible?a precious treasure,
since Bibles are so scarce. Many Bible study graduates
accept Jesus and are baptized into church membership.
Then they often become Philips too?igniting a
chain reaction of leading people to Christ and
the Church, through sharing His Word. You can
see how one Philip has the potential to reach
hundreds of people!
We
partner with local churches
The Bible League provides training and materials
to churches worldwide to begin Project Philip.
Churches use this literature to equip their own
Philips for evangelism and discipleship. In order
to receive more materials, churches demonstrate
that they are being used effectively. The Bible
League?s international office staff then follows
up to measure results. That?s how we can confidently
state?
